Scripture:
Psalm 60:1 O God, you have rejected us, broken our defenses; you have been angry; oh, restore us.
Observation:
The psalmist assumes the state of the people of God is in direct connection to God’s punishment or chastisement.
Application:
It isn’t bad theology to believe that God removes His hand of favor and that he allows his own people to be put to shame because of our disobedience. The realistic and accurate view is that God sometimes allows his people to experience difficulties. We can’t assume that everything bad is from the devil. Sometimes our bad is a consequence from executed by the hand of God. The good news is the same God that brings us pain is the same God that brings us deliverance.
⁃ Don’t assume bad means the devil.
⁃ Call on Him in our distress
Prayer:
Father I need you. Even when you are disciplining me I will still call on you to deliver me.
